Annapolis, Md. - As Senate Republicans roll out their disastrous health care bill today, Marylanders deserve to know where Governor Larry Hogan stands.
“As Senate Republicans unveil their plan to gut Medicaid, undercut Maryland's fight against the opioid epidemic, present the state with a fiscal nightmare and overall take health care coverage and protections away from Marylanders, it is time for Governor Hogan to take a stand on his party’s health care repeal,” said Maryland Democratic Party spokesperson Bryan Lesswing. “While Governor Hogan's evasiveness is on par with his own party's secretive approach in the U.S. Senate, it’s unconscionable not to stand up for the hundreds of thousands of Marylanders whose health care and benefits are on the line.”
Last week, Hogan did not join the bipartisan group of governors who denounced the harm the House-passed Trumpcare plan inflicted on their respective states and constituents.
Earlier today, Massachusetts Republican Governor Charlie Baker denounced the Senate GOP health care bill, saying that it "will result in significant funding losses for our state."
