Annapolis, Md. – Today, the Maryland Democratic Party issued the following statement in response to Governor Hogan’s refusal to fight for Marylanders’ right to healthcare:
Maryland Democrats will create standards to reduce congestion, boost economic development, promote transparency, and expand access to employment.
We’re fighting to help increase wages for working families, protect retirement security for all workers, and promote equal pay for equal work by women.
Democrats believe investments in education are investments in our future. That’s why they restored $68 million in school funding cut by Governor Hogan.
Everyone should be equal in the eyes of the law – no matter who you are, where you’re from, what you look like, or who you love.
We support Second Amendment guaranteed rights of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms. We also believe the right to own and use firearms is subject to common sense regulations to keep citizens safe.
In March 2010, President Obama fulfilled a promise that Democrats have pursued for nearly a century: making quality, affordable health care available to all Americans.
