Catherine Pugh was elected to serve as the 50th Mayor of the City of Baltimore on November 8, 2016.

Mohler was elected Baltimore County Executive by the County Council May 24, 2018 to complete the term of County Executive Kevin Kamenetz, who died suddenly on May 10, 2018.
Rushern was elected in November 2010 to a four year term as Prince Georges County Executive. Baker represented legislative district 22B in the Maryland House of Delegates from 1994 to 2003, where he served on various subcommittees and task forces. He also served as Executive Director for the Community Teacher's Institute, located in Lanham, Maryland.
In November 2006, Isiah Leggett was elected to a four-year term as Montgomery County Executive. He is the first African American to be elected to this public office.
Speaker Busch from Anne Arundel County was elected to lead the House of Delegates where he has been a member since 1987. The former teacher quickly established himself as a strong, progressive leader.
Under the leadership of Senate President Miller, Democrats hold 33 of 47 seats in the Maryland State Senate. Senator Miller is the longest serving Senate President in the history of Maryland and is currently the longest serving State Senate President in the nation. Among his duties in the State House, Senator Miller serves as Co-chair of the Legislative Policy Committee, Chair of the Investigation Committee, and is a member of the Rules Committee.
