Victoria Jackson-Stanley made history in 2008 as the first woman and african-american elected to serve as the Mayor of Cambridge, Maryland. She was reelected in 2012 to serve another four-year term.
She is the oldest of four children born to Betty L. Jackson and the late Frederick D. Jackson Jr. Victoria is a graduate of Cambridge High School '71. She graduated with a BA in Social Work from Salisbury State College '75 (now Salisbury University). Victoria has a MSW from Howard University in 1981, and also holds a LCSW-C license.
Victoria is an active member of her church, Waugh Chapel United Methodist Church, where she serves in various capacities. She is married to Jerome T. Stanley. They have one daughter (Ericca) and one grandchild (Jackson C. Stanley).
