Joseph Kitchen is a community activist, educator and minister from Prince George’s County. In 2009 he was elected as President of the Young Democrats of Maryland and reelected to a second term in 2011. Joseph is a passionate advocate for strong families and strong communities often fighting for better schools, access to viable and reliable transportation and quality jobs. Joseph lives in Fairmount Heights, Maryland and works full time as an administrator at a middle school in Washington, DC’s Anacostia neighborhood. In addition to his role with the Democratic Party, Joseph serves as a member of the NAACP - Prince George’s County Branch’s Executive Committee, as Vice President for Finance of the Young Education Professionals of DC and Convener of the Young Black Educators.
