You Can vote early by mail
Any voter can choose to vote early by mail for any reason.
Voting by mail is an easy, safe, and secure way to make sure your vote is counted—and can be done from the convenience of your home. To vote by mail, you need to fill out a ballot request form and send it to the board of Elections. You can request a ballot request form by clicking on this link.
Voters will begin receiving ballots 2-3 weeks before Election Day. To vote, simply fill out your ballot and all of the verifying information. Return it in the enclosed envelope.
Provisional voting: Know Your Rights
Provisional voting is a safeguard for a voter whose name is not on the precinct register.
Thanks to the federal Help America Vote Act, voters that aren’t on the list of registered voters in a precinct must be given provisional ballots instead of being turned away. The voter fills out an application and votes a paper ballot that is sealed in an envelope. No voter can be turned away from the polls without being given the opportunity to cast at least a provisional ballot.
Voter Registration: Do Your Part
Your vote is important. If you are not already registered to vote, the first thing you must do is register. You can learn more about how and where to register by visiting the Maryland Board of Elections website.
